Hitotsu's half-sister closes TBB's 2022 with debut

Twelfth Night capped 2022 with her debut run at Nowra. We knew the 1200m would be well short of her best. However, she stuck on well and closed out the race in sixth.

Trained by Matthew Smith, who also trains Deep Voyage, she is a half-sister to three-time Group 1 winner Hitotsu.

Twelfth Night was purchased as a yearling by Francis and Christine Cook before the deeds of the dual-Derby winner. Opportunities became available to join the ownership group for the duration of her racing career.

We are very thankful to Francis and Christine for making this opportunity available.

Opportunities to get involved in half-sisters to horses like Hitotsu don't come around too often, so we had to jump at it, especially after she was coming off two trials and heading to the races.

Twelfth Night is a three-year-old filly by Arrowfield resident Shalaa (IRE). She was bred by the famed Hunter Valley farm and is a promising filly for the future.

Matthew has been very positive about this filly, and the further she gets out in trip, the better she will get. She has come through that debut run in excellent order, and Matthew will determine a suitable race for her in the next fortnight or so at 1400 or 1500m.
