Exceedingly Excited for the Magic

Updated: May 31, 2021

Exceedingly Magic will make her long-awaited debut this week at Sale in a Three-Year-Old Fillies Maiden. She will be ridden by Jake Noonan for trainer, Shane Nichols,

It has been a long and patient ride so far with the daughter of Outreach, who was a bargain buy at the 2019 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.

Purchased for just $10,000 from the Bucklee Farm draft, she looked like a ready-made sprinter and caught the eye of Shane Nichols.

"She was quite an attractive filly, and she looked like a horse that was just about ready to go. We thought she was worth the punt as a filly on the cheaper side," Shane Nichols said.

"Unfortunately, it hasn't quite worked out that way, and there are a patient group of owners looking forward to her debut."

Among those owners is TBB Racing, who have had a close association with the Nichols Stable for a long time.

"Shane told me that he had purchased an Outreach filly that looked like she was ready to go early, and I missed out on a filly by the same sire he purchased at the (Inglis) Classic Sale, so I didn't hesitate to jump into this one," Todd Blum said.

"She has had some issues with her throat just being a little less immature than her body as she is quite a big girl, and then she had a leg issue, so it hasn't quite worked out to plan to get to the races early, but we are here now."

Exceedingly Magic is heading into her debut on the back of a trial where she was third to recent Group 1 winner Portland Sky and the well related Rose Quartz.
