Deep Voyage got the season off to the perfect start for TBB Racing with a win at Wyong on Thursday with Tyler Schiller again in the saddle.
The now four-year-old will head to the paddock off a fruitful first racing campaign, netting a record of two wins and three placings from his seven starts. He has now won $67,000 in prizemoney.
It was a great ride from Tyler to be able to sum the race up after being amongst the tail-enders throughout the run.
He won in quite arrogant fashion, and looks a very promising stayer for the future. The win was over 2100m, 300m more than his other win.
The team firmly believe he will be very effective at a mile and half in the future.
"It is so exciting to be involved in a horse like Deep Voyage who has had his fair share of issues as a younger horse and now looks as though it's all ahead of him," TBB's Todd Blum said.
It is a great credit to Matthew Smith and his team to have this horse in this form at just his first racing prep.
Credit also has to go to Tyler Schiller who is building an excellent record with him. Blake Spriggs must also get a mention for the work he did with the horse in his early races.
