Trainer: Shane Nichols & Hayden Black (Mornington)
We’re delighted to offer this Maurice x Jezzabba filly on a Lease Agreement with Shane Nichols Racing. She’ll be leased from Segenhoe Stud, continuing a partnership that continues to develop.
We previously raced Climate Change, the first Southern Hemisphere winner for Too Darn Hot, as well as Panelli under this same structure, and it has proven to be a successful model.
This filly is a strong, powerful type who was offered on Day 1 of the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale. Rather than sell her below value, the owners elected to retain her and have made her available to us to lease.
She is by Maurice, the sire of seven individual Group 1 winners including Hitotsu, Mazu and Cosmic Crusader. Maurice has sired 35 Stakes winners and a further 80 Stakes performers, underlining his consistency at the highest level.
Her dam, Jezzabba, has produced four winners from five foals to race, highlighted by Stakes winner Queen Of Dubai, who earned over $150,000 in prizemoney. Dubai Star was Stakes placed as a juvenile and won as a Sydney Metro two-year-old.
Jezzabba is a daughter of Group 1-winning sprinter Piavonic. She produced the Group 2 VRC Sires' Produce Stakes winner Von Costa De Hero, who was narrowly beaten by Sebring in the Golden Slipper. He is a half-sister to the dam of our filly. It is a deep, proven female family and it’s easy to see why the owners are keen to retain her.
Under the lease structure, the owners will retain 20% of prizemoney, while lessees enjoy full ownership privileges. The lease term covers her two, and three-year-old seasons, with an option for a third year at the discretion of the lessees in conjunction with the owners.
There is a small entry fee to cover the costs to date wince she left the sale grounds.
Please don't hesitate to Contact Us if you have any questions or queries or wish to get involved.
