A So You Think colt from Cambridge Stud. He's out of the Listed-winning mare Respin at Karaka. Sold as Lot 464, he was secured for $275,000 NZD.

Shane went to Karaka with the intent to by a really nice horse, after missing the sale for the past three years due to covid. He has found one here after zeroing in on this So You Think colt.

This colt was bred by Brendan and Jo Lindsay of Cambridge Stud, and they have bought back into him.

When they come off a farm like Cambridge, who have produced so many top-line horses, it has given him every advantage. 

So You Think needs no introduction. The stallion is currently third on the Champion Sire table ahead of horses such as Snitzel, Zoustar, Written Tycoon and more. Only I Am Invincible and Savabeel, helped mainly by I Wish I Win's $5 million first prize for the Golden Eagle, are above him. 

Shane has had a bit of success with the stallion. His Group 2-winning filly So You Assume was by the sire, and she earned over $415,000 in prize money.

"This colt looks like the more masculine version. He looks like he's got a bit of speed and could get up and running. We won't set out to push him as an early two-year-old, although we will be looking to get him back home and into our system fairly quickly."
 

The dam of this colt was a Listed winner in her own right. She was also Group 3-performed. Her only runner to date is her Stakes-placed two-year-old colt named Balance Of Power. He is by Almanzour and is in the Mark Walker / Te Akau Racing Stable. He has only had four career starts for two placings.

Being by Almanzour, he is sure to continue to improve into his three-year-old year. What he has done is just on his talent.
