I am very excited to be able to offer our owners opportunities in this consistent mare with Matthew Smith Racing. She is a consistent mare that will be racing at Midweek Metro level and in Midway races. She was formerly owned by Darren Thomas' Seymour Bloodstock who are major owners. They have sold out as she doesn't have a real commercial pedigree to send to stud and they have to make room for new yearling purchases coming through.

She has had 19 starts and their business model is to continue to find regular Saturday grade horses. That isn't to say she doesn't have a lot of racing left in her. They bought 3 yearlings at Magic Millions for a total spend of $530k. They will buy into other yearlings also.

Matt trained the horse previously which is a significant advantage. He has purchased the horse and is offering to some owners to race her in the future. 

I have been burnt in the past with tried horses; however, it is different when buying into these horses that the trainer has had previously. The big-time owners simply can't afford to keep them all and some horses have to make way for the new stock. 

TBB currently have two horses with Matt in Deep Voyage and Twelfth Night. I was able to catch up with him and his wife Melissa at the Sales. He is an excellent trainer and a better bloke. He is a real 'straight shooter.'

"With a current NSW provincial/metro rating of 67, Belle Espoir will resume racing in the Autumn when the tracks soften up and be placed in midweek metropolitan grade and Saturday Midway races." - Matt Smith.

She will be an excellent horse to keep the prize money ticking over with the width and breadth of NSW racing, as well as the option to race her in Vic. She will be racing during and into the Autumn.
